Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded in December A. D. 1675 at Chandni Chowk by Aurangazeb. the Gurudwara Sheeshaganj marks the site of his martyrdom. Aurangazeb issued a Large number of ordianaces to restore Muslim Law. He imposed Jaziya on Hindus and destroyed many temples and converted them into mosues Aurangazeb had no taste for poetry and was opposed to the writing of history of his period.
